An Inspiring Story – Science Buddies Rocketeer Program

Eleven year old Imran Bin Yusof from Farrer Park Primary School attended our Rocketeer holiday program during the school term break. The program was a great success and the children thoroughly enjoyed the activities. Imran was no exception. The Rocketeer program left a lasting impression on the young man. He was inspired to take his newly acquired knowledge a step further. That is, to fine tune his skills and share his knowledge in the company of his friends at school.

He came up with the brilliant idea of launching his handmade rocket during school assembly. Being respectful of school regulations, he sought permission from his school Head of Department to do so and got her blessings. Before the day, he diligently made preparations to ensure the success of his ‘project’. For example, he made several trial runs, put in some modifications to his unique rocket and prepared all the necessary resources in preparation for THE day.

The launching of the rocket during assembly was eagerly awaited by the students as it was the first time that such an exciting event is happening in their school. The launch was executed with clockwork precision, thanks to his meticulous attention to details. To the great delight of the students, the rocket was propelled to a height of 5 storeys! It was an awesome sight and Imran went home a very happy boy indeed. He was satisfied that he has achieved what he has set out to do and the results far exceeded his expectations. Well done Imran!
